I feel lucky to have found my career and passion early in life, high school to be exact, when I landed a job at an upscale men’s store in my hometown. I worked afternoons and weekends – selling, buying, merchandising, and even negotiating financial terms with factors – at age 16. I listened, observed and learned.
I was on my path, one that continually inspires and feeds my entrepreneurial spirit and creative drive for retail, product design, manufacturing and sourcing, and marketing.

h. barnes is a collection of small leather goods and accessories crafted to be aesthetically and functionally relevant to your lifestyle. In each item, large or small, every detail matters.
I developed the collection drawing on my years of meticulously designing, sourcing and selling the best-of-the-best in apparel, footwear and accessories for leading brands and retailers, among them Lucchese Bootmaker and Neiman Marcus.
We use only the best materials, such as our fine English bridle leather that is vegetable-tanned in America. All our goods are handcrafted in the USA using both domestic and imported materials.
